I'm trying to put togeather a listing of some of the parts I've been collecting as part of my purchases, in anticipation of a WANT TO SELL posting, you know, so I can buy other parts.![]()
However before I do so, I wanted to make sure I'm correct with the listing, so had a question about some of the items.
If memory serves from what I remember reading here, There are two types of caddies for the CF-28, and they're basically the same except one is slightly smaller in depth than the other.
The smaller size is for the 600mhz, but will also fit in the 800/1000mhz.
The larger size will only fit in the 800/1000mhz units.
If this isnt corrent, please let me know.....
I have a collection of these I'm going to sell, and want to make sure I list them correctly.
I'll put the model numbers and detailed pictures, but some of them also have a small apx dime sized dimple on the bottom of each caddie, so I assume that helps to identify them as well.
I was figuring 30/35 dollars each, based on what I've seen, but dont want to over price them either.
Also, is their any value in the heating elements for different caddies? I've been taking these out, as cool tempatures is never a consideration where these toughbooks are going, so when replacing the hard drive, I just pull them out.
Add to this I've collected a few wireless cards pulled out as I've started replacing them with the Eng. 8602 plus S cards, and wonder if the take outs have any real residual value?
Thanks for any advice, as I need to maximize any monies I make so I feed the habit.
To date we've aquired three CF-27, seventeen CF-28, five CF-29, one CF-M34, five CF-50, and more inbound.

Correct on the caddy sizes & fit. WiFi cards like Intel 2200BG go for $5 to under $10 from what I've seen.
Recommend trying the model CF-73 business class semi-rugged laptops, especially the later models 1.86GHz or 2GHz CPU. It will help "refresh" your growing TB addiction. -
I'll look for a CF-73, it should help the TB shakes, it's been like four minutes since I bought a TB. Though I must say Ebay should be charged as a co-conspiritor or at least an enabler.

Actually they should be charged with piracy... Or aiding and abetting! At least something.... Welll... They just seem too much interested in making money and NOT enforcing the rules! People bartering feedback is bad news and against their policy... Yet they turn a blind eye!

I'm not sure how much you sell (or buy) on eBay... But I have had several issues with people taking stuff out of my auctions and claiming them as their own... When I complain... Nothing. Some even cut and paste my auctions almost entirely. A few were shut down when it is obvious but most were left open.
Now the thing some sellers are doing is extorting feedback to keep their ratings high. Whether it is offering to extend warranties for those that leave positive feedback or only offering refunds for those that leave positive feedback FIRST. This is against eBay policy yet they turn a blind eye to it.
There are still other sellers that any normal person (or person who has been buying and selling on eBay for a while) would see that they will never receive their products and they are obvious rip-offs.
They have changed their whole rating structure to favor those that sell nickel items and sell a lot of them... Rather than those who have had perfect feedback for 10+ years.
Sour grapes? Yeah... A little... But the fact is... The DO NOT even come close to policing themselves or protecting buyers and sellers alike.
