I just got my second CF-28 put together tonight, but I have a problem. I can boot off the floppy drive, but when I try to boot off the hard disk, all I get is a flashing cursor. I can access the drive fine when I'm booted off a floppy, it just won't boot off off the HD.

It is an 800MHz unit, model # PTJAAQMBKB, if that means anything.

Enable hdd as first boot device in bios
    Try removing the fdd
Is there an o/s on the hard drive

I have tried it with both DOS and the Windows XP installer installed to the drive, both with the same effect. If the HD is first, with or without the floppy installed, then it just goes straight to the flashing cursor screen.

You need to reinstall/repair the MBR. Do a google on this and you will get plenty of hits. If that does not work, then post back here again.

Thank you very much; it fixed it! I can't believe I didn't try that before asking for help. I guess thats what happens when you're playing with computers when you should be sleeping!
