Working on rebuilding a CF-28 MCFAZDMBKB running Windows XP. Touchscreen drivers installed and thats working fine..however the display isnt taking up the entire screen, windows is only filling maybe 10-11" and the rest around is black..so im sure its a video driver issue..right? I have Silicon Motion LynxEM as my display driver..is that correct or am I missing something?

    Thanks!!

Have you checked the Display properties for correct resolution?

In all fairness to this fine gentleman - He's right. I just recently did a new winXP install on my CF-28S3 (mark3), and the default resolution post-install (with Service Pack 1) was 800x600. Sure enough, that results in a large black border.

The fix, as described in the thread that Doobi linked, is to change your display resolution to the native resolution (probably 1024x768 or "XGA", unless you have an SVGA screen). If that doesn't fix it, then you have some other problem. See the linked thread for details.

I don't remember the exact model off the top of my head, but the 28 uses an Intel video chipset, not silicon motion. That could be part of your problem

The standard driver in xp should work if you change the display resolution to 1024x768
Right click on the desktop , go to properties, open the settings tab,and adjust the screen resolution slider to 1024x768 and apply.
Check and see if that works or if your display setting is set to 800x600 and report back

Your Mk-1 model uses the Silicon Motion video chipset
Note the intel chipset is used on the mk-2 and mk-3

For MK2 and MK3 you need the "new video" driver from the usual download sites as Alex said. It likes to be installed first or second.
