I have a CF-28 that was given to me , and I'm sure this topic has been covered
before . I've read that some models don't have wifi while other's do. The owner
advised me that it has built in wifi with external antenna on the unit but claims
it hasn't been working properly doesn't know if it's the wlan card or the board .
He's been using a Linksys wpc54g pcmia card which works fine . Question is
If the internal wifi has problems which would be likely to go bad the wlan card
or wifi board ? . I'm going to continue to use the external pcmia card. I own
a CF-29 and love it . If there are any other's in the forum who use a CF-28
I would like your feedback. I'm new to the forums. Thank You....

wlan and wifi are the same.

With a Intel 2915 wireless card and an antenna you can install under the battery.
THERE IS ONE PIECE OF PLASTIC ON THE BOTTOM 1/2 OF THE UNIT. THAT IS WHERE YOU WANT THE ANTENNA.
HOLD THE ANTENNA UP TO THE LIGHT AND NIP OFF THE END THAT DOESN'T SHOW ANY TRACES.
THIS ANTENNA PROBABLY FROM A CF-29.
QUICK AND DIRTY FIX WHILE FIGURING OUT WHERE THE SECOND ANTENNA GOES...I ASSUME YOU COULD SNAKE IT INTO THE LID.

I'm not certain of your CF-28, but I've got two of them, neither has built in wifi and I do recall that someone was selling a conversion kit.. It seems there was a wifi option but very few came with it.
