    Greetings,

I have just began my Toughbook addiction with the purchase of a Second-Hand CF-28 Mk.II from a flea market.

I am currently running a fresh install WinXP x86 SP3, but I am unable to find any drivers (neither on the forums; most links have expired, nor on the official website).

I'm mostly interested in the WinXP x86 (32 bit) drivers for my model, but it'd be wonderful if someone also had the Win2000 drivers, since XP isn't really running that well.

    Thank you for your assistance!

EDIT: Oh, forgot to mention this: I've installed the network driver from the official Intel website, but I am having issues w/ my internet. My status is displayed as "Connected", but I am unable to access any websites through Internet Explorer. Pinging google.com through the command prompt shows me that packets can be sent/received, but that's about it.

nevermind----not paying attention yet this morning.

    Try mk3 drivers.

Use 7zip to open the archive then install the drivers.

    Try mk3 drivers

Anyways, I'll be booting up my CF-28 now and I will begin installing the Win.XP drivers for the Mk.3. I'll provide further info about the situation

EDIT: Apparently I get an error whenever I try to open the Mk.3 driver .exe files stating that "This machine does NOT support" them.
    Welp.

They look the same as mine when I bought mine from Heartlands many years ago. Some are printed on white CD's and some are lazered on

I haven’t bought from them since 2013. I think I bought them. They might be in a box hidden away behind old computers that are unloved

I have managed to install most of the drivers, thank you for your assistance :).
Now, I'll have to see if the ethernet issue I had before is fixed. I'll keep you updated.

Your issue with the internet is why I went to Linux OS for my 28...
That and a better WiFi card

On my CF-W8 I have the same problem as you. I am using "Internet Explorer 8" and will not let me update it to a higher version because I am using XP . I have install "Google Chrome" and now have no problem connecting to the internet. You can thank MS for your problems.

My question is... why are these "CF-28" discs labeled "FZ-G1 Series"? I thought Toughbook recovery disks were strictly limited by Model and Mark numbers.

    Confused Wally

Alright, I've installed another browser (since chrome kept giving me errors while installing) and it all works just fine.
Now I'll have to install some low-resources antivirus (Bitdefender gave me a warning about the poor performance of my PC), and I am set.
Thank you for all your help boys! :)

The guy sent me a message this morning . The CD's are for a 28. My guess Heartlands messed up when they printed the label for the cd's. I knew something was messed up when I noticed it said G1 and it had XP for an operating system which is just too old for a G1

    New info:
Use MK3 drivers for a MK2. Don’t for the MK1. The MK is basically a new computer. Like a Ford F-150 is the MK1 and the F-250 is the MK2 and MK3. I personally don’t like MK1 CF-28s but if I get offered one it’s something I think about every day then I would get it

For the truck enthusiasts I added that ;)

ClamWIn Free Antivirus. Works nice but the scanning is only C:\ or D:\ or A:\. It is nice though
