    Quick question-

The handle on my 29 locks in place when it's pushed in. Is the handle on the 28 supposed to to that also or be all loose and floppy?

    TIA,

    Rob

The 28 I had also locked into place. I hope that helps.

Doobi... Not sure what you had but all the CF-28s I have seen have never had a locking handle. It pushes in close but it doesn't "snap" into place like the CF-29 does. Is that what you were talking about?

Is there an easy way to get the 29's handle to snap in like new once it is loose.

I had a handle that was kinda loose when i got one of my 29's so i took the handle off cleaned it out and then switched the parts around (mainly just the little pill shaped plastic pieces) then put it all back together and it was way tighter of a fit. I guess just moving the pieces around they now have new wear spots and fit tighter. It it worth a shot as it only takes a few minutes to do.

If that does not work you can buy new pieces and it should become tight again.

I think all the toughbooks with a handle usually locked in place... my 29 did it when brand new, but after 3 years it stopped... I think the more they break in the more floppy they get. My 30 is about 2 years old now and doesn't lock in as good as it used to but still good so far. I'm guessing that 1 more year and it will as well be floppy.

Cf-27 and CF-28's did not have handles which clicked into place like the CF-29 and 30's do.

You are right. I guess "snapped" into place is a bit of a misnomer as in it did not "snap" into place like my 29. It did however, stay in place. If I grabbed my 28 by the rear and held it up, the handle would not "fall out". The 29 definitely has more of a "lock in place" feel when you close it, though. But I did have to "extend" or "pull out" my 28 handle to use it. It wouldn't just extend on its own weight. Does that make ANY sense? Or do I sound as crazy as I think I sound??? hehehehe
