I really want to upgrade my CF-28 MkI with the 1GHz board, and from what people have told me, it cant be done. Is there anyway I can modify my MkI case to be able to install the 1 GHz board? I really like my 28 and don't want to lose it. She's 14 years old and NEVER failed, not once...................

There is no way you can use the case from MK1 to MK2 or 3 Mbo. Mounting screws on the bay areas are out of line my friend. Take the advice of the senior member here coz we are the first hand on knowing and experienced on it.

Here is the deal I will give it to you and the end result will be as better than your MK1 unit

The item you can use from the MK1 unit.
    1.0 The whole LCD panel
2.0 The whole hadd and caddy
3.0 All the doors and covers
    4.0 The keyboard
    5.0 modem or lan
    6.0 the handle
7.0 If you do have pull out antena and its accessories for wi-fi
8.0 CD rom drive and Floppy drive.
    9.0 Battery

Just buy a half unit(base with cover for hdd and battery) with the motherboard and your set.

You may ask the Capt'n maybe he has still an spare one Mk2 or MK3

I have one that I just messed up and snapped off a key today. I am selling 800 and 1.0k cf-28's. No bs they work fine but the HD and battery took a crap and the out side lid looks like the deputy pulled it a block or two but the cpu runs fine and the screen is clear and works.. I have the power to go with it.
I work for a county SO and it will have to be E-bayed and I am not able to do a buy it now but I can set no reserve and see what it sells for. I do have 3 total if you would like.
