I have a MK III cf-28 and it works great in all areas except a couple...
The internal/hidden PCMCIA slot wont recognize any cards....I have tried good cards that are recognized in other laptops with the same OS. I am using XP. Any easy ways to test it?
I also cant get a wireless network card to be authenticated when hooking up to my wireless network. I know the card is good and the drivers are loaded.....
So, how can I check the PCMCIA thats hidden, it seems like its not getting power.....do i need to crack the case?
Regarding the external slots,....Any ideas how to get the card authenticated on the network, it says its got good connection but wont authenticate.
thanks in advance.

1) Put something in the hidden slot
2) Then ENABLE Cardbus B in the BIOS
3) Use Fn+Tab to turn toggle power on and off after that. -
I have cardbus B enabled now and its powering up the cards....thanks!!!!! Still no luck authenticating...it just keeps validating the identity. I tried to repair the connection, but no luck.

Many factors can cause that, we really need one of the resident networking experts to weigh in. Until then some things that come to mind:
- In the TCP-IP settings, is the address set to DHCP? Or a fixed address in the range your router will accept e.g. 192.168.1.100?
- Try turning off the ToughBook's firewall
- Be sure the password is right. Or if using WinXP, be sure the Advanced setting allows connection to a non-secure router.

I will do that tomorrow, for now, my eyelids are calling me. to be continued. Thanks for the help. Let me know when you get the ram and that your happy.
