Hello everyone. Another newb here. I just bought a CF-28 for use in the field mainly to run ballistics programs (kind of think I should have gotten a CF-18 instead but thats another thread). But he more I read here the more I've been intrigued with attempting some of the mods.

When I first got my TB less than a week ago everything seemed fine, but today I noticed that the FN keys were not working. I started looking online for a fix and decided I should look in the BIOS to start and that's when I realized my right and left arrow keys aren't working either. Any ideas?

...oh yeah I haven't messed with the keyboard either.

    Thanks.

if the Function keys are not working, it is most likely the hotkey driver. If you go to Device Manager, do you have an UNKNOWN DEVICE listed with a yellow ! or ? in there? If so, you need to download the hotkey driver and install it.

Look at the stickies on the start of this forum for the location for those driver files.

    Welcome to the forum!
Yeah... Sounds like the hotkey driver... If you look under the stickys at the top of the Panny forum you will see som CF-28FAQs... There are links in there for the drivers as well as how to install them properly. Make sure you go to a bonified Panasonic site to get the drivers!

I checked in the device manager everything looks good. I don't think it's a hotkey driver since the ENTER and the Left and Right arrows aren't working either.

After searching through the site for posts on keyboard issue I'm beginning to expect it has to do with the connection. Thoughts?

I think I'll give it a rest tonight since my eyes are about to start bleeding. Tomorrow I guess I'll have to learn how to pull the keyboard. Gotta love it!

    Thanks.

Yea the CF-28 doesn't rely on the hot key manager, it is native in the BIOS so it most likely is your keyboard connector or torn ribbon. Careful with the lower brown clip many have broken it.
