An article written at the time of the introduction of the CF-28 asserts that the screen is "encased in an anti-torsion, water-resistant magnesium frame and protected by an overlay panel."

    Here's the article:

I also read somewhere that the protective panel is bonded to the frame to prevent moisture and dust ingress.

I'm wondering if this is renewable: if new overlay panels are available, and what the replacement procedure is to preserve the MIL-STD-810F "liquid Ingress Protection rating of 4."

    Anyone?

    Thanks,

    jv

    jv,

It is my understanding that you can't do anything with the factory sealing... If you get my meaning. Mine came with an overlay that easily peels off... Can be cleaned then reattached. I haven't cleaned mine yet other than a light wiping with a mild soap and water solution. I started to peel off the overlay and then decided to wait until I had more time to get into a thorough cleaning.
