Instead of a 31 Mk5 I ended up buying a CF-28 locally just for sh*t's 'n giggles. Based on the reading i've been done it should have 11b WLAN, but am I right?

I believe so but if not then it is a WWAN or cellular one.

What I use to upgrade mine to was Broadcom 4318 802.11g card. I went back though my old archive of ebay purchases to look that up.

Received the 28, it's missing a COM port cover and the PCMCIA slot cover. There's one on eBay but ehh i'm not in the mood to get reamed for shipping.

The 28 only came with cables if it came with Wi-Fi from the factory. My first one had a pull out antenna for Wi-Fi. On the others I just added those universal Wi-Fi antenna's. Just got to put them under a plastic cover on the side or it can interfere with your signal.

Yaay my battery resurrected itself!
EDIT: It killed itself again. LUL. Oh well, I wasn't expecting anything out of it anyways.Last edited: Mar 12, 2020 -

I have some new-in-box batteries for 27 and 28 for sale, guaranteed to take a good charge. Even a few for CF-07 brick and VDW, probably 20+ years old now, new in box and still work great, have not had any duds yet ...
