Over the last few months I got a CF-27 MK IV. The good thing is that everything I've needed to know you guys have covered (like the sound not working).

I was given a CF-28 by a relative who got into Toughbooks as well and gave me 2 additional LCDs and a cover with a touchscreen. No matter what I try there is no saturation on any of the LCDs. The display is black and white however using VGA output works fine. I suspect the cable since I only have one. For now I ended buying another CF-28 since I prefer one with an XGA panel. It but it lacks the CDPD modem that it said it came with but as far as I know the only benefit would be just to have the button working and lights.

The other question is that I haven't probably looked hard enough but I have a question on the secondary battery (VZSU1428). The unit I have is a CF-28P that's not listed on the papers with the battery and the computer reports having two individual packs. My question stems from my knowledge that fully discharging a Li-Ion battery is not good for it. Is there a way to hot swap it (here I've read this only works on the MK III, the CF-28S, and all 29s) or safely disable it? I noticed that the MP Arrow LED only lights up when turning on and afterwards shuts off. I haven't tried it yet but I'm assuming it drains to zero before going to the main pack.

I've mostly used ThinkPads over the years and each one of the primary three I use handles secondary batteries differently. Obviously hibernation and popping out the battery works however I'm tempted to see if suspend/sleep puts the draw on the main battery only and I can remove the secondary battery that way.

Also before I forget on the main battery the U at the end of the packaging is the region, correct?
