I decided to take apart one of my CF-28s to see if I could make use of the hidden third PCMCIA slot. In the process I also removed the obsoleter Research In Motion radio modem. Here are the photos and description in four installments (due to forum file size limitations).

Nice pictures. The 3rd PCMCIA slot is on the right side under the modem and LAN card, 2 screws to remove the plastic palmrest corner.

Yeah, good pics; if you take the time to read the FAQs, you'll know what all that stuff you're conjecturin' about actually does, and you'll know about the hidden serial and USB ports in there.

    HOWEVER.

You really need to edit out the segment about circumventing the BIOS Password in Part 2 here; as has been stated repeatedly, PARTICULARLY IN THE READ ME FIRST STICKIES AT THE TOP OF THE FORUM, discussion of circumventing passwords in ANY WAY on this forum is VERBOTEN, and the mods WILL delete with extreme prejudice.

    Welcome to the forum!
