HI Everybody: I just got a CF-28 "M" series 600 MHz with touchscreen and when it boots the PANASONIC letters are pinkish red. Does anyone know what this is. Maybe a bad screen or weak inverter. I searched around a bit but couldn't find anything here on the forum. Thanks. Spark

Sounds like maybe the CCFL is going bad - like an old room flourescent tube before it warns up.

Searched for that and found this page-
    http://www.daileyint.com/hmdpc/lcd.htm

seems like a good trouble-shooting page for LCDs.

My 800MHz was doing that. I took the whole screen assembly off my 600MHz parts one and it works fine.

Usually as a rule of thumb red hue = bad bulbs. Dark screen that never showed a red hue = inverter.

Yes... It sounds like the backlight is starting to go bad. IT still may work for a long time to come... But the red ue will get progressively darker as the bulb gets progressively weaker.

My Dell Inspriron is like that now... But I'll be selling it as soon as MY NEW CF-30 GETS HERE TODAY!!!!!! Whooohooo!
