Hello everyone, This is my first post and I am pretty much a green bean on the toughbook but I wanted to know what is considered the most desired integrated options for a 29? I know that many things can be added to these units but my thinking is to leave the slot open on the side for future flexibility. Also does an integrated option mean that it is on the motherboard? Or are these options available by attaching modules or boards inside the unit?

    Thanks

Hi! Most options that are discussed here are all connected to the option slot inside the motherboard like the bluetooth, WWAN, aftermarket gps, internal Mic. and etc. We don't occupy the 2 PCMCIA slot and that is for future expansion. We do not use a PCMCIA bluetooth with blue LED light on CF-29 and sell it on ebay for 1k plus.

BTW, welcome to the forum. You are the one who will choose what kind of option that you may want to ad on it. Search and read a bet, this site has full of info.

Thanks for the Info, I am going to buy a Cf-29 and attempt some of the mods I see you guys doing and I wanted to make sure I get a model that will be a good platform from which to start. I actually bought a unit off of ebay that I have since returned because the seller gave me the model number of CF-29LTQGWBM, which he totally mis-represented. This unit had a 30 gig HD and a 1.3ghz processor with XP sp1 w/out a valid COA. And did I mention that the bios was locked. Any way I look foward to purchasing a Mk 4/5 unit with touchscreen and going foward from there.

I would say to just get the newest model you can with the options you want right out of the gate and upgrade from there.
