Can anyone tell me where the CMOS battery is on a CF-29 and how to get to it? I have one that consistently loses the system time and want to change it myself.

    Thanks in advance,

    Taz

It sits on the top of the mainboard between the pc card slots and the hard drive. If have good dexterity, you can swap it out with a little patience but if your don't, you'll need to pull the mainboard out. If you pull the hard drive and look in the bay, you should be able to see a bright yellow piece of plastic; that's the CMOS battery.

Awesome - found it and got it out without too much trouble.

Is it possible to remove the battery from the yellow housing? Or do I have to order the whole thing from Panasonic? They sure don't make this easy.

    Thanks,

    Taz

ETA: Nevermind. Found out the yellow stuff is shrink wrap. Just returned from Batteries Plus where they soldered my wires onto a new battery.
