Ive had this thing for years, and always used dialup up unless I was at the library or something, and a couple weeks ago I broke down and got a mobile hotspot. and now my wireless failed. it was beginning to do odd things when connecting, it would aquire the network adress, connect, and promptly disconnect, and do it all over again, and again a few times before it would stay connected. It did this on any wifi connection, no matter where I was, and it gradually did it more anod more times before it would stay connected untill now. my brother tried to update the drivers off this forum, and still nothing, it picks up whatever networks are around, but when I try to connect, it doesn't even ask for a password and says "waiting for network" but never connects.

My brother says its the wifi card, and I think he is right, we tried troubleshooting and all that windows jazz, and it says its working fine, Im buying this one on Ebay, will it work?, is it decent? is it a complete POS?

Update the driver from Intel (I assume it is the stock OEM wifi card) Also, check your ports in Device Manager.

Also... Check out the Engenius card that Blair mentioned above. I have some used ones if interested.

Believe the CF-29C (Mk1) has the Intel 2100 wifi card -- which has really poor performance, breaks link often, etc. Mk2 has an Intel 2200 which is less trouble but not as good as the Intel 2915 used in Mk3 and up.

Definitely your best option is the EnGenius 8602 -- solid Atheros chipset, very high output power + great sensitivity = long range

Thanks guys, I got the EnGenius in the mail today from that link, (the packaging sucks, it was just stuffed in a letter envelope, but appears ok) just installed it and the drivers, and it connected first try, Im usieng it to post this right now.

One question, I dont think I did, but if I mix up the coax hookups will it be a problem?
I hooked black to main, and white to aux, Im pretty sure thats how it was when I took it apart, but now Im second guessing myself.

The hook-ups make no difference... The antennas are the same on both sides...
