Nope... Been there, done that... There is another thread around here about that... I believe they tried it on a CF-29 though. Same thing... It will not fit into the caddy... Now... If you want to take it out of the caddy and pack the case with foam around it.... It may work... But you'd be on your own there.

"If you want to take it out of the caddy and pack the case with foam around it"

Thats kinda what I was thinking...
The caddy is not really needed if I rig a foam or rubber insert in the bay for the SSD.

Any idea on what thread? I did a search but must not have worded it right.

It's been a year or more ago... Have no idea but you should try an advanced search ONLY in the Panasonic forum with IDE or PATA and SATA as keywords...

Tried it. Gave up. Just too much work and without the caddy it was too flimsy and the connector would fall out as it's only held in by the pressure of the caddy being snugly fit and the door.

Or you could put them in a decent enclosure and use them for rugged external drives.

Thats fine for a RAID set up, but mine are in single SATA enclosures, connecting with either USB or SATA (via a PCMCIA card). If you use the complete SATA set up, the access/data flow times are really quick. Granted, mine are standard SATA drives, not the SSD, but the enclosures are both rugged and well cushioned, so they have almost the same effect. You can never have TOO much external drive capacity!

Yup. Couldn't get it to work. However, since I tried it a couple of things have come up.

1: The 500B SATA drive I had was unformatted. I did format it and put it in an enclosure and am using it as a backup drive for all my junk.

2: Now that I think of it, that's probably why Windows wouldn't recognize it.

I still want to try this sometime, but really don't feel like tearing into my 29's now.
