I just purchased a nice looking keyboard of ebay. They said it was for cf-29. I got it yesterday and checked it out. On the bottom of the key board are four metal statndoffs so when I put the new board in it does not sit flush. But the ribbon cables are all the same and it works. So what you guys think?
    Thanks!

    The cf-30 uses the standoffs
The base with the standoffs is double-sided taped to the keyboard
You can separate it it you are careful

What do you think if I just zip them off with a Dremel?

    Finemedic,
I think the dremel would constitute what we used to call a "atomic fly swatter".
    A razor blade will suffice.

    Yes, that would work fine
Less chance of warping the keyboard

LOL. Haven't heard that one before but definitely a great analogy.

I would seperate them... No sense on taking a chance with either heating up the stand-offs or slipping and gouging the keyboard with the Dremel tool!

I put the dremel away...I used an exacto knife and slowly pealed and cut away the back..Works good. No issues.
    Merry Christmas.
If I could only get the CD/DVD drive to read DVD's. It reads CD's fine but not the DVD's..
I cannot find a driver on panasonics site..Any tips?
    Thanks again..

I just used pliers and popped mine off. They are like small, tiny rivets holding them on. No problems doing it, and no damage done.

Finemedic.... The CD/DVD nor the keyboard requires a specific driver. You do need software to burn the CDs & DVDs.... Do you know for sure that you have a DVD player/burner? What does it indicate on the end? Does it show DVD Rom? CD Rom? DVD R/W? What's the story?

the drive says its a DVD-ROM & CD-R/RW drive pack model number cf-vdr291u. It comes up in device manager as a matshita udja760. It will read cd but not a DVD data or a DVD movie...Also the Fn keys on keyboard do not work. I found all the drivers but not sure how to put them in. The drivers are all .exe files when i put them on the desktop and click on them they do nothing, How do I load them.
    Thanks.

The drivers will usually un-extract to c: util or c:util2
Look in the folders for the exe. for each item

i've had 1 or 2 combo drives fail as you describe- reads cd's but not dvd's. try to clean the lens, if still not working pitch it and put a dvdrw in your caddy.
