I have a CF-29 MK2 and the hard drive died after a couple yrs so I replaced it last week with a new one , today the laptop would not boot so I checked the Bios and the Hard Drive is not seen .

I pulled the hard drive and connected it by USB to my computer and its tests good - I have to parts to try and pin point the problem and was wondering what you guys have found in the past

Internal or Hard Drive Carriage ?

Clean your connections! Check your connections! You may have to open the bottom plate... It's easy but you will need to disconnect the speaker before you pull the plate away... Visible though the RAM cover.

You didn't state how the drive died so it leaves the possibility that the drive is still functional but the computer can no longer see it.

Occam's Razor..... It ain't the mobo... It's something simple.

OP... You didn't really say whether the CF-29 ever saw your drive when you replaced it. Did it EVER work (with the new drive) or did it just not work after replacing the drive? If it hasn't worked since replacement... Check for bent pins on the end of the drive.

What drive are you trying to use?
CF29's don't like later Samsung drives.
