I have a CF-29HTM50BM. Its problems started on a hot day in the desert. I was driving with the windows open on a hot day, using the laptop for navigation. I noticed that it had shut down on its own. It would not restart right away. I assumed that it had overheated. After it had cooled down, it would restart, but the USB ports would not work. I tried updating drivers, etc. The system shows that they are present and working, but nothing plugged in is recognized. Since my GPS is USB, and the main use was navigation, the laptop is now useless.
It also has a problem now with the touchscreen, where any touch, anywhere on the screen sends the cursor off to the right side, even (vertically) with the touch position. I have read of the touchscreen problems, but not sure if mine can be fixed. Should I replace the touchpanel?
Are these problems repairable, or should I use it for a parts donor. I have another thread on another 29 that may need a battery daughter board. Should I take the one from this 29, or buy a new/used part?
Thanks.

They are cheap enough to buy another. Your touchscreen is done... Your thermal pads on the CPU are probably toast and need new ones...
CF-29 Problems. Is it a parts donor or repairable?
