    The CF-29 with no Touchscreen panel will appear brighter. Also a unit with a new touch panel will be brighter than an aged one.

    The next significant improvement is when you jump to a CF-30 with 1,000 nit screen.

    Or to a 19mk5 with a 6500 nit screen!
    Which is true but a little bit baloney at the same time as 5000 of this 6500 are provided for by a bright noon sun that is shining on your display.
    But bright it is for sure!

    The higher the screen "NIT" rating the better the visibility in direct sunlight.

    The CF-29 13.3" Touchscreens are;

    Mk1 - 230 NIT
    MK2 - 380 NIT
    MK3 - 380 NIT
    MK4 - 500 NIT
    MK5 - 500 NIT

    If you read some of the previous threads relating to CF-29 screen issues you should become aware that swapping screens with dodgy touch panels is common practise :eek:...so a MK4 with Touchscreen could actually have a 380 NIT transplant from a MK2....or a MK2 with a non working Touchscreen could have a 500 NIT screen that came off a MK4 or MK5. :D

    The CF-29 non-Touchscreens are a marginally higher rating but if your numbers come-up on the Euro-Lottery then you would be naturally looking at a CF-19 MK5 anyway...that's why Alecgold sounds like the "Cat that got the Cream" :).

    Circuluman - My tech best described it as a prism that takes in the sunlight and redistributes it back at you though the panel using the sun as a backlight, making it brighter! Pretty damn cool in my opinion... :)
