About three times now, my Cf-29 will turn itself off without hitting any buttons. It has been plugged in every time. Anybody out there got any suggestions??

Is it sleep/hibernating or a hard powerdown? If the latter, perhaps it's a thermal shutdown because the unit got too hot.

Run a utility that monitors system temperatures and let us know the results.

I think we need just a little more information. There are many possiblities...

Is there a charged battery in it as well... Power settings ? Hibernate enabled?
Loose solder joint... cpu reached it thermal shutdown. And the list goes on...

Hey... must be on the same path. There is that Program NHC 2.0 That is great for this. It warns you of high cpu and hd temps. Great Idea.

    Welcome to the forum.

    1. Have you paid your electric bill?
    2. Have you cuddled with your toughbook regularly?
    3. Do you say kind words to it?

Seriously though, we need to know your complete model number, what OS you are running, have you installed any new hardware recently (HD, RAM, Etc) and does this happen on AC power or battery power, or both?
