simple question:
where does the sim card go for GSM WWAN enabled cf-29's with the internal sled? (I'm assuming on the card or in a "slot" accessible from the exterior?)
Or is there no sled, and they use the pcmcia?
Thanks in advance!

Hi,
The slot should be on the lefthand side near th front there is a cover the notch that you use to open the cover as far as I can rember.
The pcmcia slot is below it. there should be a bit of plastic above pcmcia with a screw or 2 in it the cover should be on this. there should be a notch or a hump on it and use your nail to pull it open ( it will open towardes the front of the laptop) -
The OEM AT&T WWAN, not the SBC model, has a small door above the battery door. It may have a tab or a hole that you pry open. The SIM just pushes in to lock. Push again to remove.

Since I can't fax over cellular with my sierra 860, I was thinking of upgrading to a faster usb modem (which doesn't have voice, like the 860's I have), and trying to utilize something similar to oem for the sim, but I have y bt and gps mounted in the stock wwan location. Not really a need to be able to easily change the sim anyway. I think I'll just mod the usb modem to cn51 (cn49??? whichever is the oem bt location, under the kb) and routing the antenna cable up to the wwan antenna.
Thanks again ya'll!!!
