    So, are the raw LCD panels the same? I have a new 29 screen I'd like to put in the 30 (which is dim, no way it is a 1000nit).

    Thanks.

    Do you have the number from the back of the CF 30 panel?

    they are not the same panels, We ahve tried this at our shop and it will not work. the pinouts on the cables are different, and if I remember right, the 30 is a little wider on the connector

    It is quite posible if you have The right shematic pin out of the Lcd by rewiring the harness to its coresponding pin out.

    @SiliconTi
    Is your cf-30 a touchsceen 1000 nit,or a non-touch 500 nit?
    BTW if the screen is dim,you may be able to change the ccf tubes

    Don't waste your time trying to change the CCFL bulb. I tried, and ended up breaking one bulb in the process. First, the bulb was a little larger than the one I took out, so it was difficult to get in properly. The ends where you solder the wires are very tight, and it is quite hard to get the wires in to where they need to go without breaking them, the tube, or the solder joint. There is a LOT to disassemble to even get the bare panel out, and even then, I couldn't figure out how to disassemble the panel properly. I also had trouble lining up the U shaped channel to the panel, so it now does not light very evenly. There is a lot of light at the bottom of the LCD, but it does light the whole panel. It is no brighter than the one I replaced, since it is not aligned. There are also dark areas in the corners since everything is not quite lined up.

    Overall, I spent quite a few hours working on this, had to disassemble everything several times, broken parts, still not having it work, I do not think it is possible to do correctly. If you have a bad CCFL, then it is time to replace the panel, but good luck finding one!

    I 'repaired' a panel for my 51 by disassembling one panel that the LCD was broken but the light panel was good and installing in another panel that he LCD was good and the CCFL was red.
    I must have missed the LED rebuild. That would be interesting!

    Are all CF 29 500 nit? I looked for the specs on the raw lcd numbers but I could not find the nits listed.

    No wit on the nits found.
    I have found a lot of nitwits though.
