My CF-29 ( CF-29L3Q71BE = MK4 non-Touch ) is configured to dual-boot XP and Linux Mint 14.1
A Restart via the START-Button from XP is working fine, but when I try to restart from Linux Mint the CF-29 is shutting down Linux Mint correctly.
When he should restart the CF-29 gets stuck. He didnt get to the Panasonic/BIOS-Screen.
I have to poweroff via the power-switch.Then a normal power-on is possible.
Does anyone got a idea whats the difference betweeen a XP and a Linux Mint Restart?

I don't know.
But I'm thinking about it.
What kernel version is Mint using. And I think ACPI may be having issues. Second issue is the graphic intensive modern versions might be fighting with the older Intel chip.
Have you checked your log files to find an error?

Which log-file is for the shutdown?
In the dmesg-logfile I only cold see the system booting....
EDIT:
The last Linux Mint Update (via apt) seems to solve the problem.
Now after a restart the following commands for restarting does work:
The Restart-Button from the panel
and as su:
shutdown -r now
reboot -
Knoppix 7 was doing the same thing on my CF-18 when I had it installed, I will try to update it if I re-install it.
