Hi forum, is it normal that the battery completely drains in a month when the CF-29 is in hibernate mode or realy off?

Yes.... In hibernation mode the laptop will drain the battery. If off, depending on how equipped, it may do the same thing.

You shouldn't be hibernating for a month anyway. Turn it off and remove the battery. That will solve your issue.

The battery will drain on its own even out of the laptop, but it will be much slower than it would installed. Depending on the condition of the battery, a month while installed sounds about right to me. I have a lot of these sitting around at work unused (makes me cry a little inside) and I almost always have to plug them in when I actually do go to use them.

Supposedly the best way to store them is about at a 60% charge condition... But I would periodically do a recalibration.

Thanks for your feedback and it is good (or bad :) to know that the battery is draining in hibernate mode. Thought that this would be only in standbye.
Maybe it have something to do with this: Download Fix for Windows XP SP2 Laptop Battery Drain Bug Free - When you unplug the AC power from a Microsoft Windows XP-based portable computer, the battery may drain more quickly than should - Softpedia

I will test the fix and when it does not help i have to reject the battery.

Thanks again and will give a report if the fix is working.

The battery seems fine, as Wyrm73 mentioned above they discharge even when out of the machine. Even if the machine is off the battery will drain in about a month.

I had read the description and would say this fix will not help if u mean, u have this issue only in hibernation or standby. And it's only for xpsp2. Most of the chemical batteries will loss power over the time, even when they are not used. Additional if they are in an electronic device with an electronic "power off switch" in opposite to an mechanical "power cut off switch" there will every time a small amount of current go through the electronic parts, even if they are (mos-)FET like :)
