    Hi there!

I bought 3 pcs CF-29 without HDD and caddy. I get a caddy from ebay and i tried 2 different harddrives (60gb,100gb) in all the 3 computers but the bios cannot be recognized it. I hear when the HDD start to spin at power on but nothing. What can be a problem?

    Thanks for your input!

You know for sure the HDD's are good ? Is the caddy OEM ? This is a known problem with the China caddy.

I should say it's not the caddy but the connection/cable. It does not stick out far enought out of the caddy. A lot of our forum members have had this problem including me.

The cheap caddies can be a challenge to say the least, the metal is too soft so it can take a lot of bending and cussing to get it to work.

Thanks. But that is with hdd, therefore it is more expensive. Maybe a cable is enough for me but i need to identify is it really genuine one.

It will be very difficult to find a genuine cable being sold separately..

All of us have been down this road before and I know its hard to understand BUT the cable will cost you more. There is a dealer selling them for $59.99 or the complete caddy for $99.99, these are OEM.
