    I use my 3g phone via bluetooth and get OK download, can i use the embedded cell interface. I found a web link on here but it will not decode my model number. thanks

    Go to this link and put your model # from the back of your computer.

    on the bottom of the unit, look for an esn or imei number, let me know which number you have. it will be a sticker on the bottom.

    it sounds like you have a gprs or a cingular edge modem.

    your sim card should fit into the slot.

    how ever. you may also have an sb555 modem. take a pic of the cover above the batt. and a pic of the bottom of the unit.

    i can tell you have a 29 mark 4, and it does not have a touchscreen.

    any farther than that and i am unsure.

    the site listed does not recognise my model, maybe it was special order....
    the gsm module sits above the battery, device manager detects as MC75, I have been unable to locate device drivers. there is an antenna that can be raised from the screen lid, a panel to the left of the handle has the symbol of power,mail and an antenna symbol.

    L = mk4
    3 = not touchscreen
    Q = 60 gb
    7 = ?
    1 = ?
    B = WinXP SP 2
    E = UK keyboard

    I could guess what the 7 and 1 are but I'd rather be sure since it's a pretty wild guess right now. They refer to wireless capabilities.

    edit: I'm pretty sure MC75 is a GPRS modem.

    you are right, the mc75 is a gprs.

    you will need to find the drivers from panasonic for the modem.

    When the configurator won't take your model number automatically.... Put it in manually and it will work! ;)
