    Hello all,

I have a CF-29 that was given to me and when I look for the model number all I find is CF-29GC83.

Which does not seem to be enough numbers. I tried the configurator but for some reason the discontinued models option did not show up for me.

Any idea wha this thing is? It also is not working right now so I need to ID it to get started on fixes.

    Thanks,
    Mac

Reboot your system. When you see the blue Panasonic splash screen hit F2 to get into the BIOS. On the first line should be a complete model number.

FYI: A "GC-83" is a GPRS GSM 2G internet card... I used to use an unlocked one with T-Mobile about 6 years ago...

Blair is right, it's probably a crappy CF-29 SBC model.

    Thanks

don't be so tuff on the sbc model. it very well may be like the abused and used honest working taxpaying citizen. rode hard and hung up wet by those who used it and abused it out in the field. kinda like our elected elite. we are to be used abused and tossed aside. send me off to the old toughbooks home a little blue pill a new hard drive with a new lease on ..........Driller

I agree. Without the 10,000 plus CF29's of SBC, many of us would not have a CF 29 or at least be able to afford the spare parts to keep ours running and or for sale.
