OK....A complete caddy for the Optical device bay appears to be worth the current price of gold or your willingness to give up your first born (an't gonna happen :>) So, if there is not a caddy on Ebay for a CF-29 CD-ROM or CD/DVD whatever, would someone please tell me how I can get my hands on the correct external drive for one of those Deal Train specials (CF-29HTM50BM)????
    Appreciate any answers.

Kevin, your title says external but a caddy is internal. Which are you referring to?

If external, most USB-powered drives will work. Some might even boot if the bios allows it.

Internal CDD caddies are in short supply (plus some of us keep spares) but keep looking in the Buy/Sell. Never know when you'd get lucky.

Thanks ToughNut! Yes, I want to pick up an internal caddy for the stripped CF-29 but was wondering if just any external drive would work - which you've helped me answer. I'll keep looking in the Buy Sell.

    Why spares, there not batteries?

Yes any usb powered drive will work and is bios bootable. They are around $50 bucks as well. Check the egg :)

...because stuff happens! and that was before I found this forum. Also, you may not realize but it takes lots of persuasion to get a ebay seller to ship international, if at all. Batteries?? Now where do I begin? :D

Ron in SG... and it's NOT a province in China!! sheezzz!
