Hello,
I am have been trying to get my internal GPS to work with my software but I can seem to. I am not sure if the GPS is loaded right I used the recovery disks that came with the laptop, but all I see is Com1, 3, and 7 I assumed its one of those but it doesnt seem to work. So I AM curious if there is a certain configuration and if there is FREE software that is KNOWN to work with the internal STOCK GPS for the CF-29

I have tried iNavigator, GPSinfo, and Microsoft S&T and all work fine with the stock GPS on my cf29.

Ahh, you have recovery discs!

Doobi, what settings was your GPS set to? COM and IRQ etc. And did you setup as a Garmin, Magellan in the software?
It could just be my software but in my Device Manager it doesnt Show a GPS engine just 3 Com Ports so I am not sure if my GPS is working they may be for the wireless crap. Any help would be great.
Terminus, Nice Avatar reminds me of JERICHO. ;-) -
No, no. Go to your device manager and look under System Devices. If you have listed "Panasonic GPS Filter Driver", then it is installed. If not, then you do not have the correct driver yet.
Mine is set to com3 at 4800 baud. IRQ is set to 3. As for the software, I just loaded it up and hit connect, there was no setup I had to do. All was picked up on it's own by the software. Hope that helps.. -
Ok I got it to work, though on MS trips it shows I only get 3 sats in the house and 4 outside, I assume that it only lists 4 or will it show more if in range? I know 3 is all that is needed, I am just curious is all never used MS trips before until I bought it recently.

Yes... You must install the two registry entries for the GPS in the 29 to work. You should be getting 5-6 satellites minimum. I'll go from 5-6 to 9-10 depending on the hour of the day.

Well I installed the filter driver, So your saying I am missing an entry and that is why I only get 3-4 Sats? Could it be my area?
