I have a CF-29ENKNXKM which has screws on the battery cover ad for the HDD switch. I got the screw out for the HDD with a small flatblade screwdriver, as the smallest tamper resistant Torx i have is a T-8. Anyhow,if i pop my media drive out i can feel the battery slightly loose in there,it flops around a little, works fine still but annoying.

so two parts i guess, first what size is the Torx screws, and is that normal or bad?

dunno the torx size. I got a jewlers screwdriver with changable tips for $9 at RadioCrack, and it does have all the torx sizes for my 29.

dunno bout wiggle room. might be missing a screw (or not tight) on the bottom plate/lid???

Not sure as well. My only issues were the doors where the bottom plate of the rig covers them. Removal was required to even see them to tighten them.

Do you have these 2 pieces of rubber on the door which the red arrows are pointing at....these hold the battery in so it will not move. To me it sounds like they are gone ?

Based on the below photo of the CF-29 bay lock plate, I don't know if the "bumpers" you pictured would be used or not:

That is a good question....I just figured they both would have them to keep it tight. I think that toughbook(rick) could answer this one for us ;)

based on the removal of the HDD and WWAN covers, it hasent ever been opened up.

I have Snap-On tools, so the quality is not an issue. I just dont have a tamper resistant Torx that small.

Anyone wanna trade this screw on door for a regular one?

    CF-29ENKNXKM DESCRIPTION:
Pentium M 1.3G LV (Centrino), 13.3" XGA Transmissive Touchscreen , 256MB RAM, 40GB HDD, Floppy Disk Drive, Intel 802.11b+g WLAN, Win XP Pro, Rubber Backlit Keyboard, Dual Pass-through Connector, WIRELESS READY, HDD/Battery Door Security Screws

The smallest Pin In Torx® bit I found is T-5.
I'm a little confused on this issue.

I, too, have a CF-29 Mk2 (See below) that is configured as having "HDD/Battery Door Security Screws".

My unit has Torx screws installed in place of the usual Phillips-head screws of my other CF-29s, but the doors open as usual.

Do you have a photo of your doors as they are originally "secured"?

I got the door open, the secured piece is screwed on the exterior of the regular door and just keeps the latch from moving. remove the two screws and the metal plat and i have a regular battery door.

I have a blue tab battery (ive seen them described by the color of their pull tab,but dont know what significance the color of the tab has), and you can see where the two rubber tabs on the door are making contact with the battery. the battery slided up and down and forwards and backwards, with your orientation sitting at the computer typing. the rubber pieces on the door keep it from sliding left & right.

thinking about just wrappin it in some fabric or something to keep er from movin around.

Blue Tab is Standard Capacity; Yellow Tab is High Capacity.
Did you remove the battery and make sure it's genuine Panasonic® and not an "after-market" one?

I have an mk1, and got my sister and mk3. My mk1 is quite snug with absolutely not wiggle, but hers has quite a bit. Both oem batteries. Might just be how they are???

These will help. These are from my parts MK1. I used a stock battery for the photos. It slides into a secure tab on the bottom and a metal rail on the side.
My mk3 wiggles less than a 1/16 of an inch in both directions up/down and left to right.
The mk1 wiggles 1/16 up/down and virtually none left to right.
