I read around a little, searched a little, and followed the cf29 faq to the panasonic drivers page.

I want to be able to switch on and off my wireless card and/or bluetooth, and I don't know which software to install. when i search the panasonic site for the cf29 and wireless, I get seven or so results, but none of them specify a cf29cxxxxx (mk1). How do I know which one to use, I don't want to go mucking up my system with installing/uninstalling the wrong programs.

    TIA!

You can go HERE and create an account. You can also register your Toughbook if you like. They have a very simple site to navigate and you can look up drivers by MK#... Easy, peasy Japanesey...

Now, how did I know TB would be the first to answer? It's very obvious, after posting only once or twice, who the real go to guys are...

I did create an account, login, search, etc... that's where i got the 7 or so results from. But they were all listed for other models of TB (cf29 mk2,3,4 etc) not an mk1.

I suppose a more appropriate question, would be if I need to just go ahead and try'm, till I find one that works? I was hoping someone would have experienced this already, and had the answer. Looks like I'll get to be the guinea pig this time.

    Thanks!

In the future you may have better luck at panasonic.ca

I did actually try some of the wrong packages, and got the whole "this package was not meant for this system" type error anyway.

I just tried the panasonic.ca site, and had the same results come up.

I'm not quite sure what it is that's going on here, I think one of the packages may work for the MK1, but won't allow it to be installed. I believe there are those among us with special voodoo powers, used to unpack the mystical exe, and remove the verification?
I had read another thread where someone was having similar challenge, and someone else ended up just emailing them the file they needed (unnecessary use of pronouns is awesome!).

OK, so the wireless switch works fantastik! Thank you...

However, the BT switch did something, and I don't know how to fix it.
I have a micro dongle off cn18 / diy gps board, IVT BlueSoleiland it worked great.

Then I installed the BT switch, which installed fine, but now I can't do anything with BT, it does not place a switch icon in systray, and the switch doesn't show up in add/remove programs.

SO, WTH? How do I turn BT back on? I found the switch's startup shortcut and deleted it, and have also clicked the bt switch icon in c:\panisonic\ with no results. please help, I just got a kick ace mouse, and can't use it now.

I had one do this. Turned it off and would not come back on. I changed the usb doggle fixed the problem. It acted like it killed it when i turned it off. I removed bluesoleiland and didn't have anymore problem.

You're telling me I'm gonna have to swap the donle with a different one, or just remove, reboot, reinsert?

I'm gonna try reinstalling bluesoleil when I get a chance. If you used bluesoleil and removed it, what do you use now?

And can anyone post me a link to the Pani BT software that doesn't check your model type?

As far as I can find Panny doesn't have one that isn't model specific. I believe it is due to licensing the stack from Toshiba.
Go to this site at Toshiba, it's same stack Panny uses but the newest version. Is an evaluation version you must re-install every 30 days. The ones from Panny install the same way if you don't have the exact model it's intended for, and they are much older versions. Better to use the newer ones IMO.

Yes i had to buy a new one to fix the problem. It sounds weird, but it killed my usb bluetooth. It just kept showing the bluetooth had problems. Maybe its just quit, but It was working till i shut it off. Dead after that.

    Yeah, this makes no sense....
I pulled out the first(#1) bt adapter (the one that got turned off) and put in a similar one (#2), and it wouldn't work.
Threw back in #1, and all is well. I'm just using the MS BT applet, it does what i need without extra software (now just tryng to figure out Asynce over BT, and file exploration).
But the strange thing is that #2 is now turned off??? And no, I didn't switch them accidentally, #1 had the extra plastic cut off of it, so I know which was which......

yeah, now i'm getting a code 43 in dev manager for my bt dongle.

This means 1 or 2 things: baked device, or windows is screwing up somehow?

    EDIT:
I just pulled the dongle out and plugged it in the side, and it's working. I dunno. I just ordered the same dongle as onirakkiss, and will be doing his mod off cn42(?) anyway...
