Lets compare. As far as toughness they are the same, get a brighter screen, dual core and up to 4gb of ram, SATA hard drive interface on the 30. The 30 is a worth wild update. You will need a different DVD drive than what is used in the CF-29, but you can use the CF-29 battery. Has one PCMCIA slot, one express card slot and one SD card slot. I have used a CF-30 MK one for over a year now and got a Mk2 sitting at the house waiting on me. You can even do the same basic cooling mod you did to the 19 to it. I have seen reports of under 20 second boot times on the Mk2 with properly tuned SSD. Lets compare more.

    CF-29 Mk3
    Intel Pentium M 738 1.4GHz LV single core 2MB 400MHz FSB (32 bit only)
    Intel 855GME chipset
Intel 855GME - UMA up to 64mb video memory (shared)
DDR RAM up to 1.5GB max

    CF-30 MK1
    Intel Core Duo Processor L2400 1.66 GHz 2MB L2 667Mhz FSB (32 bit only)
    Intel 945GM
Intel 945GM- UMA up to 128 MB shared memory
DDR 2 RAM up to 4 GB max

    CF-30 Mk2
    Intel Core 2 Duo Processor L7500 1.6 GHz 4MB L2 800Mhz FSB (32 or 64 bit)
    Intel 965GM
Intel 965GM/x3100 up to 384 MB shared memory
DDR 2 RAM up to 4 GB max

You want a CF-30. I have used a MK1 for over a year with a Intel SSD in it and it worked great. I justed up graded to the MK2 but have not installed the SSD in it so I can not say how much faster it is. There is a lot of 30's on ebay at very good prices but check them out very carefully because the cheap one's are well used and to fix them up will cost you $$$$. I know it cost me about $150.00 .

Why do you erase your posts?
This thread can help somebody else looking to answer the same question.

I don't know why you PM'ed me to remove my posts either. If no one replies to this thread it will move down the list. When other people having close to or the exact same question can see what was discussed before and ask questions then based on what they have or want. If we remove a post just because it is or "opinion" as you stated then why are we here, why are there different sections in the forum for what people like. There are pros and cons for everything, something that is a pro for one is a con for others. The reason I put down what I did is for everyone to compare. I have 2 Mk3 CF-29's and I have 4 CF-30 Mk1 and Mk2. When I didn't have one the only thing to do is to ask.

Yes. You definitely want a CF-29 or a CF-30. Unless you are ready to spend the money on a CF-31. Or, for you time-travelers, a CF-32, CF-33, CF-34, etc...

    CF-30:
L7500 or SL9300. I could upgrade it as I did CF-29. Now one I cant find speaker at down-case. I do upgrade post's as soon as I can.
