i don't want to say that this is a new tip or this will apply to others. just in my case, because I also know that we have some good tips to fix this issue in other threads.

before i mod in my Mk5, the touch screen worked fine.

then I spent a lot of time to change LCD convert, LCD, and even if open it again to see how much space I can get for future plan. Then, issue happens.

I start getting strange response from the touch screen. The point is not at the same point when I press my finger. It is about 1cm far from the point I want. In the centre of screen, it works better, but near border of the LCD, it is unpredicted.

I tried some methods that our experienced bros discussed in this forum, no success. Even if when I insert some plastic piece under the screen border, the touch screen even if get the worst case as it response with 20cm far from my touch point or it just run the mouse around the LCD.

Finally, because I thought the strong pressure of LCD top cover may affect the LCD, I tried to screws out all screws, then screwed them again to the tightest level I can get. Then I tested the touch function. It worked a little bit better but still response strangely.

Then I tried to screw all the screws out a little bit with all position, a little bit means you can feel the top cover lift up a little bit but you still have a solid LCD cover.
then, wow, it worked like it was before I mod anything on the laptop.

And now, it is working just fine again, I can point at exactly whatever I want. I usually use my finger to work with Photoshop with precise touching point.

Just I make sure all screws are un-tight at the same level at all positions. The LCD cover still are very tight with solid feeling when I lid the screen.

    :D

Having the outer cabinet screws loose will defeat the water-resistance of your Toughbook; I recommend instead that you try a few washers under each mounting screw that holds the LCD to the bezel to shim out and increase the clearance between the LCD and the touch panel. If you don't have any washers small enough, you can make some using a razor knife and heavy (NOT CORRUGATED) cardboard or soda-bottle plastic.

hi, i don't mean that it will lost the water resistance. just a little bit out means "a little bit", not much.

anyway, thank you very much. I will take care this information.
