Hello, Newbie i guess you can say. I have already tried the search button and couldn't find anything so far. I have a cf-29 toughbook ( i believe mk 2) with a floppy and no hd. bought a new hd with caddie. I have external cd/dvd drive and do not plan on buying a swappable internal drive if not needed. Now I need to install windows and well no cd/dvd drive. What is the easiest way to do this. external dvd/cd drive (is it possible), thumb drive or floppy boot. Detailed instructions please. If someone can help me with this it would be much appreciated.

    Welcome to the forum!

If your USB drive is readable in the BIOS you should be able to load XP with no problems. Just click on F2 upon boot to enter the BIOS... Then arrow over to the boot menu. Highlight CD/DVD and click F6 to bring it to the top and then click F10 and enter. You should be able to boot off of that. You can download all the drivers you need from here...

    or here

    http://www2.panasonic.com/webapp/wc...ePage?langId=-1&storeId=15001&catalogId=13401

The second link will require registration and I believe is a much better site.

There will be other to chime in I'm sure.

    and pxe-m0f: existing pxe rom.
checked cable re-did everything and getting same error.

the pxe error is because your not setup for a lan boot and the hdd has no image on it. all you need to do is image it and it should be good.
