    Hello All-

    I have a CF-29CWPCCKM with XPP SP3.

I can not get the TB to see the SB-555. I have gotten the drivers from Sierra and they load OK. I go into Control Panel , Modems and it is listed. I query the modem and it gives an error message that it is not there. I have removed the drivers and removed the sled. Installed the drivers and then installed the sled. No joy. I guess it could be a bad board.

Can the sled and guts be used for somthing else? I really don't need the cell phone data connection.

    What is the trick?

    Thanks - Ken

The driver you got from Sierra is probably for the PCMCIA card and will not work. For the OEM modem you need to get the driver directly from Panasonic support site.

    Thanks for the ideas.

Yes it is turned on in BIOS. Yes the lights light up and the on/off switch works OK.

I will remove the drivers and load the Panasonic drivers and see what happens.

    Thanks for the help.

OK - Got it running. I found some drivers on the Panasonic site that did not work. I went to the Verizon site and found drivers there that worked like a charm.
I will play with it more and look for some utilities to play with and learn more about it.

    Thanks for the help.

Does any one use that port for anything else? It looks to be a USB connection.

I believe that you have from 1-3 serial ports available and a source for vdc
It can be used for a serial gps , read the cf-29 GPS threads for ideas
I don't believe that the wwan sled on your mk-1 has a usb interface
The mk-5 model has If I remember correctly

    Ken,

I was wondering what steps did you take or which drivers were the ones that worked for you. I've spent countless hours trying different drivers and no luck. It will not show up in device manager and when I launch watcher it wont find the card. I have the CF-29CWPCCKM model.

I tried software for the SB555 where it even asks me to assign the port but not sure which port should be assigned and how.

When I went into Control Panel >> Modems and then Add it does list the SB555 as a option to add but not sure which ports I need to assign there or if that is required.

    Thanks
    Adam
