I have a CF-29MK5 and I'm going to get another toughbook. I need a second one. I do a lot of outdoors work.

I can spend $1k+ on a CF-19 or a CF-30, or just get another CF-29MK5. What would you guys do, and why?

Not that I have that kind of money but if I did, I'd buy another 29mk5 for the simple reason that I already have spare keyboard, decent 2~3hr batteries, DVDRW drives and media bay battery.... none of which is common to a CF30, no matter how much I used to itch for one and still do. Oh and YES, an emissive keyboard too!!

The 18 I have is kinder to tired shoulders but the keyboard is not grubby-finger friendly. I suppose same can be said for the 19, albeit faster.

BUT... if it was a huge lottery windfall, I'll take the 19, 30, 52, 74..... heck, why not??!!

I don't have any spares right now, so it's pretty open.

If you have the cash, the CF-30 will have a longer usable lifespan speed wise.

Technology is not an investment, it is an expense. If you are like me you want to minimize your expenditures.
