    Hi to all!
I'm planning to buy a CF-29 with this serial: CF-29HTM50BM
I've tried to search marks on www.config.toughbook.com (as suggested in FAQs), but I can't find some marks...
    CF-29: ok, model
    H: mk3
    T: 13.3" XGA TS
    M: ??
    5: ??
    0: ??
    B: WinXP Pro
    M: USA?

    Anyone can help me?
    Thanks in advance!
    Regards

Thank you very much for your answer! :)
SBO stands for "super bright outdoor", right?
Is possible to add a 3G WWAN modem inside this model?

Can you tell me exactly which type of ram can I install on it?
Do you know an European store where can I buy a media pocket battery?

Sorry for the huge quantities of questions... But you have this model, so you are a very precious source of information! ;)

    No-It means Southwestern Bell

Yes-with the pigtail for pcmcia WWAN you can install a pcmcia 3g wwan card and hook up to the antenna

    DDR-1 1GB PC3200 200-pin I think (someone correct me if a pc2700 works)

Don't know about stores but I have one for sale in the buy and sell section

I bought my media bay battery from an american seller, but living in itally with your rather hit and miss postal service, you may have a struggle finding someone that will ship to you...

The 3G is easier to solve though! you need a Sierra Wireless Aircard 850 which is about 20euro and another 10euro to sim unlock, that just slides into the pcmcia bay and attatches to the wire thats floating about in there :)

You may notice a metal cover blocking one of the slots, that is just to hold that card in place :)

    Thank you again!
@Tomcat57 thank you for your offer, but I'll try to find it in europe due the slowness and cost of customs in Italy.
@mattpayne Excellent! Sierra WA 850 seems fit perfectly inside the bay! Do you confirm PC3200 ram?
@denrosten I know... I know... I suggest to use only couriers (like dhl, fedex etc... that use an internal customs service), our postal service has improved greatly in recent years, but customs are still a big slackening
EDIT: denrosten you are from Belgium, so no customs! My argument is valid only for Americans...

I know, it is not customs that hold them but postal services
The buyer affirmed that the machine is there, he phoned several times to the post office, and they told hem to have patience :D

Actually, it's "SBC" and it stands for Southwestern Bell Company (now: AT&T).

I just bought one of these of eBay and will be getting it up and running soon (new caddy & drive enroute; already have the Recovery Disks for the Mk 3, but also need a set for my Mk 2).

I already know that page... but there weren't marks of this special model...
(that have already been well explained in previous messages)

Is indispensable a recovery disk? Can I use a generic oem WinXp disk and download drivers from Panasonic's website?

The Recovery Disks just make it a lot easier to reload the factory preloaded software, drivers, etc.

As noted, you can use an OEM XP Pro disk and download the ToughBook-specific drivers/utilities to finish off the "restoration" in place of the Panasonic disks.
