First thing is Panasonic does not have a "OEM driver cd" for your model so if this came from fleabay then throw it in the trash , its no good and a waste of your hard earned money because they can be downloaded for free from panasonic. ares93 has the link for you

If it does not work then you need to use the restore disks.

Bugger all... Have you tried the drivers from the other marks? MK1 through MK5?

Half the drivers on me MK4 are from the MK5 cause it wont accept MK4 drivers. I'm starting to think i have a MK5 mobo in a MK4 case with a matching MK4 sticker. If you consider that me hdd caddy is from a MK2 and me caddy is from a MK5, its not that big a stretch.

Use WINRAR to extract the driver files instead of using the auto uncompress in the exe files. Right click and press "Extract here", the install the drivers via device manager. (Don't forget to force them, via the "have disk" button.)

Does your CD look like this one Panasonic CF-29 Toughbook Recovery CDs | eBay . This is the only OEM one that Panasonic makes which has the image of your harddrive when it left the Panasonic factory. Only takes about 25 minutes to load the 3 cd's . These things work great and saves a lot of trouble.

Its practically impossible to get those discs. And if you by some godsend miracle find some, its a bloody robbery. At this point i wouldn't care if they were pirated or not. Its not illegal here in Sweden anyway.

I JUST WANT ME RECOVERY DISCS! ARGH! :mad2:

EDIT: I'm gotta get some shuteye, guys. Yanks, ball's on your court.
    Cheers

Have you tried head phones to see if it worked? or does it show that there is a problem with the drivers in device manager.

FILE NAME IN ABOVE POST is the driver I have installed, however System states that driver is Not digitally signed, and has not passed windos logo testing, could not install in hardware update inside control panel. States Realtek Multimedia audio controller is located in PCI BUS 0, DEVICE 31, FUNCTION 5, Device Status: "the drivers are not installed for this device"
    Any ideas? Regards, cleve

The correct driver should be this one:

    http://pc-dl.panasonic.co.jp/dl/download/file/001279/s/bcaa6258fdc8a0fe/sound_29_2_d030899.exe

You might try the driver for SP2:

    http://pc-dl.panasonic.co.jp/dl/download/file/002959/s/7fc56b7ade49a620/sound_29_2b_d030899.exe

You may have to manually extract it.

Thank You Above for all your Help- Maybe the reason I am having trouble is because I'm in over my head. I did re-install a new HD and get xp up and running with wireless, however this sound card driver issue has me stumped. I saved the two drivers that Glen above posted into a usb drive for safe keeping. When I run the driver, system default put's it into here:
    c:\util2\drivers\sound
Once it is in there, is it then supposed to work, or is there more I need to do?
I did try the winrar program but that is way over my head.
If I can not get this working, is there a sound card I could load into one of the pci slots on the side near usb port that would allow sound?
Thanks again for all your help...off to work
    regards, cleve

Download this. And use device manager to install the driver. (stac97.inf)

    CF-29 mk2 sound.rar

EDIT: regardless which driver you use. the one i linked or the one in c:\util2\drivers\sound, the driver will not be installed. You either need to run the setup file in the folder (CF-29 MK4) or use Device manager to install the drivers (CF-29 MK2)
