hello fellow rugged junkies, I have a recently aquired cf-29,extremely clean condition. Win XP SP3 I was told it is a touchscreen model but its not working at all. I have enabled it in the bios, but do not see it in the device manager. Not sure now if it IS a touchscreen model. Can it be determined by the full model # ?
CF-29EQKGSKM. Also have an intermittant condition whereby the display goes totally erratic upon first booting up, mouse icon jumping around, no mouse control, pop up menus opening and closing, only solution is to power down and try again, then it seems fine. Also the fcn f2/f3 for screen brightness has no effect. Could I have a bad touch panel? Thanks in advance. Also would like to know if Win 7 will work on a CF-29 MK2

Thank you so much for this info.I definetly do not have the correct drivers, how can I obtain the correct recovery disc or uninstall the current drivers and re-install the correct ones?

I installed the correct drivers and have a working touchscreen and hot keys!! Thanks for the great info. Now all I have left is this erratic display problem to figure out. See my other post for details.

Sometimes, Forum members have the sets for sale in the ToughBook Buy Sell and Trade Forum, or sometimes they show up on ebaY™.
There is also the "Official Support Download Center of the Drivers, Manuals and FAQs" for the Mk2 CF-29.
Here's an interesting alternative: Panasonic Toughbook CF-29 Drivers Recovery Restore, SP2, Password Reset, Utilities
And; "No," I haven't tried this one: I have all the factory sets for my Mk2, Mk3 and Mk5 CF-29s.
As to reinstalling the correct drivers; "If all else fails, read the Instructions." -
Hit F2 while booting, that will take you to the bios
Look in the bios tabs...usually in the advanced tab and disable the GPS, for the time being to stop the crazy mouse issue
One of the members here will most likely link a gps patch file , so you can correct the issue properly, so that later you can use the gps -
