New to this forum , so I'm not sure this it the right place to ask about my Tough Book. If not, please point me to the right place. I have a CF-29LAQGZBM Pentium M 1.6GHz with an 80 gig hd and 512m system memory. What the heck kind of ram does it take? Some places say DDR PC2700 and others say DDR2 PC5300. I would like to upgrade the ram to the max. Also where would I find a manual for it?
BTW, I loaded Lubuntu 14.04 LTS along with XP Pro and it seems to work fine. If I were more geeky with Linux I would try Puppy Linux. From the little playing I have done with it, it seems to go like stink.
    Thanks in advance.

    Thanks people.
I have a stick of DDR PC2700 which is what the Tiger Direct memory finder said was needed. No way that fits in there. And yes the battery was out, and no, I didn't try it. Just enough to know that the slot was just a tiny bit off. By the look of the slot, some one before me has tried pretty hard to follow the Tiger option. One side of the tab is quite scuffed. Hope that hasn't messed up the board. Other than being pretty sluggish with only 512meg of ram, it seems to be a not bad machine.
    Later...
DDR2 it is. I found a site that gives the actual physical dimensions of the sticks ( http://www.simmtester.com/page/news/showpubnews.asp?num=168 ). I measured the physical position of the voltage key with my trusty calipers and it came out to be 16.25mm. BTW, I am a retired tool maker and still have the majority of my tools.

The 29LAQ is from the bios. The label on the base says 29L3L. What the heck is up with that???

The BIOS is always right. Most likely someone changed the bottom, maybe the last one was damaged ??
