    Lontime lurker, first post.
First off, this is THE site for Toughbook fans. Learned quite a bit reading dozens of threads, learned tremendously cool stuff. Hope to be able to return the favors.

to the point, got a fairly clean Toughbook CF-29mk2. Actual model number is CF-29ENKNXKM. Matches what shows up in the BIOS along with the serial number, so everything appears kosher.

Current BIOS is V2.00L16, EC version V2.50L15.
Downloaded what I thought was the correct update from Panasonic support:
Official Support Download Center of the Drivers, Manuals and FAQs | TOUGHBOOK | Panasonic

And of course the BIOS update says: "not for this model" and fails.

So is this not the correct version for my machine?

    Thanks in advance,

    Erik

    It is indeed a Mk2

This may seem like a silly question, but: "Did you RTFM?" ;) :D

This may explain it. No WWAN card is installed. Guess it's not a big deal as I don't have any plans to use a WWAN card, I just tether it to my Iphone over WiFi (Verizon charges 20 bucks for this "feature" but it's worth it) anyway.

Picked up a NOS yellow tabbed OEM battery with a 2009 date code off Ebay for $30 shipped, lasted for 5 hours straight tonight, not bad but we'll see how long it lasts.

Next item to purchase is a DVD/CD-RW drive and caddy. Going rate seems to about $50-$60 on the used market. Sound reasonable?
