I have several CF-30's with Gobi 1k cards installed and running AT&T. Beginning several weeks ago the connection managers would drop connection and you don't have the option to reconnect... the device drops from the device manager even. After about a minute of this, the device will show back up and AT&T will reconnect. It is frustrating because it just happens all the sudden. The problem started with one laptop and has since been happening on 8 others I'm looking at.

I have tried reinstalling the drivers, (maybe I didn't do it right after uninstalling them first?)

Also tried reinstalling the connection manager. I've been through numerous issues and at times I can get them to work for a day or so, then the issue comes up again and people drop them off for service again.

I'm sure this is a simple issue, but man is it frustrating.

Any tips, help, or advice would be greatly appreciated.

At this point I'm willing to try just about anything so I can stop getting these computers piled on my desk.

Are you using the current version of the CSA? 2.00.1100.01.0193

You probably need to install this update:

Gobi 1000 Commercial Mobile Alert System Upgrade For AT&T Users
Applies to all current customers having Toughbook models with an imbedded Gobi 1000 modem running on the AT&T Network on Windows XP, Vista and 7 Operating Systems. This upgrade will change the necessary settings to enable CMAS on your device as mandated by the FCC as well as eliminate intermittent modem disconnects thereby improving network connectivity.
