Hello All,
There is a consistent supply of Model CF-30FWSEXAM on Ebay so this Post is for those buyers.
This should be a sticky and then maybe you admins can refer to this rather than say "Diskussion des BIOS setzt sind verboten"!
This is not a thread about how to get around the Supervisor Password to reconfigure a CF-30. This is just a blurb on how to save yourself some cash when buying a Unit that has this feature enabled.
I bought a used stripped down CF-30FWSEXAM off of Ebay. BIOS password enabled. No HD/Caddy, No CD Drive/Caddy, No AC Adapter. I essentially paid what the parts would be separately. I had priced out a replacement Mainboard w/ Processor if I couldn't scour the Internet for a work around. There are folks who have the equipment to remove and replace the TPM. I decided to go the route of Heartland Services because I'm getting lazy and my eyesight is going (getting too old). The initial Price for the reset is $130. I didn't mind that too much so I sent the Unit in. Now that they have it it appears that depending on the Model they can either do the simple reset OR have to replace the TPM Chip (which is an additional 95).
I will post if this model requires a TPM R&R.
To cut to the chase just buy another MB and replace it. I've replaced MB's on CF-28's, 29's and CF-19's. It's not hard to do. There are copies of the Manual online and Youtube videos as well. I guess I will have to start wearing my glasses if I buy any CF-30's hamstrung this way.

The price sounds about right. I have been told its about a little under $300.00 counting the cost for you to send it in to Heartlands.

70 bucks for return shipment if you go with their standard.
