In need of this part number. This part number should be mark specific. Mk2 is bigger in size and thickness than MK1 not sure on MK3.

    DFMY0487ZA from a CF-30 Mk2 repair manual.

Remember, Panasonic is constantly upgrading, changing part numbers.

Did you mike those pads? Curiosity as I may pull my 30 apart some day and I have 1.5 and .5 on hand. (from Frozen CPU) Red in color works great in the CF-29s.

I received these and it not a match. I was told by Heartland to use DFMY0487ZA in place of DFMY0434YA. This can't be right. What should I do?

Have never seen the guts of a cf-30, but as long as it "smooshes" to fit to cover over the areas that need the heat dissipation rubbers, things like cpu, graphic chipset, whatever else that needs to transfer the heat to the case botton and or heatpipe I may be wrong, but I don't think this is a problem. I've had the cpu's on the 29's and 51's over covered but not impeding onto any thing on PCB like resistors, transistors ot the like and not had the first problem. FWIW............Driller

I looked at the pictures again. The pad is wide and tall enough as long as it is centered on the heat sink and you have total contact with the CPU when sealed up. The extra on the old one is well just extra.
BTW if that new one is red someone else is using Frozen CPU pads.

The pads are red in color and seem to be thinner that the 1.5 pads from frozen CPU. I'm not sure the CPU and heat sink will even touch the pads when assembled. We’ll see.

I have thought of copper shims before
I bet that if the right thickness was found that you could reduce the cpu temperature
The problem is you could damage the M/B if the laptop is dropped, your Toughbook without the give of a flexible pad is no longer fully rugged
