My CF-30 took a spill with a network cable plugged in and it broke the tabs out that the cable clips to.

Anyone know the part number for a replacement jack, or if a jack from a CF29 will work. I have several CF29 parts machines laying around.

    Thanks.

if they look the same on the outside and on the PCB side then i can't think of one good reason why it wouldn't it's just plain old jack and the only electronics are those little LEDs.

You'll have to take it apart to check. You'll just need to make sure it is a 10/100/1000 jack! Not all CF-29s had those. I think it was only MK4 & MK5...

Yeah, Don't think any of my 29 doners were new enough for the gigabit nic. Ended up getting a pair of BIOS locked 30s on Ebay for parts. Now it is just a matter of getting the thing changed. Looks like they built the laptop around that jack.

Also, has anyone had a CF30 sent in to get the BIOS password reset? Just wondering what it would cost. Got a pretty good deal on the pair, and don't need 2 parts machines.
