I've noticed that the handle on my CF-30 no longer "locks" in place when closed.

Very annoying on the road, when the handle floats around and rattles....

So, I unscrewed the handle, and opened it up to see if something inside broke - there were no loose parts, and the very small spring-steel plates designed to cause friction and "hold" the handle in place are in place, and not adjustable. The plastic handle hinges have a little protrusion to rub against the spring steel pieces, and those appear to be OK, too (no loose pieces inside the handle assembly).

Any ideas on what broke ? This seemed to happen all of a sudden, and both sides of the handle are loose, so something's up....

    TIA...

I have found that you can replace the "snap" back into CF-29 handles by opening up the handle and reversing the oblong nylon carriers that he handle nibs slide in.

Give it a try... It doesn't always work... But more often than not. I routinely do this when refurbishing my Ultimate Toughbooks...

If Ricks suggestion doesn't work, I installed nylon washers to add more friction. It added the perfect amount of lever action to it. My 30MK2 did this exact same thing. You are right, it's very annoying.
