I bought a CF-30 mk3 and thought I'd try upgrading the backlight. I bought the LED strips @ohlip used:
http://forum.notebookreview.com/thr...-tube-into-an-led-backlight-cf-30-lcd.739952/
and installed them in roughly the same way. But I haven't been able to figure out the wiring. The LCD model is L5F30812P00 and the inverter is a Tamura HBL-0375. Google hasn't led me to a datasheet or a schematic that might help me figure it out.
The (old) Tamura HBL-0375 connected to the CF-30 via an 8-pin cable, but the new inverters each come with a 4-pin connector which I was hoping to connect in parallel to power 2 LED strips. The new inverter at least labels the pins: GND, DM, ENA, VCC.
I'm guessing GND means ground, VCC is for the +5VDC, but I don't have a guess for DM and ENA. And then there's the question of how to map them to the 8-pin connection the CF-30 provides.
Any hints would be greatly appreciated.![]()

Awesome, thanks! I'll try it and share how it goes.

observe proper cmos/vmos handling precautions ...
the *enable* and other supply/source/signal lines are driven by or can be traced back to cmos/vmos devices (except for ground) ...
a little static on one of these lines when it is "floating" will pop the semiconductor device .SHEEPMAN! likes this. -
@ohlip how did you approach joining the cables together? I was thinking I should unsolder the male connector from the old inverter, the solder the new inverters to it, but I'm realizing these cables are tiny and I'm not that steady a hand. I could splice the cables, but then I'm ruining the computer if I mess it up, or if I want to change out the LCD again.
Curious to know what your approach was, if you don't mind sharing. -
Half tapping my friend If you don't want it to cut it out.

I'm getting outside my comfort zone now.
If there's someone who would be interested in making+selling me an LED modded CF-30 panel that I can just drop into place and plug in using the existing connector, please shoot me an email: [email protected]

When I did my first LED conversion, I was concerned just as you are. I just bought a second cable and modded it. That way I could go back to original if I wanted to.
